The price authority for used medical equipment

Clinical Asset Appraisal answers one question for a notoriously opaque market: what is a used clinical, dental, optometry, or lab device actually worth? We do it with real, attributable listings — never a guess — across 9 active sources, and we show our work on every page.

Who operates this

Clinical Asset Appraisal is built and operated by Clinical Asset Appraisal, a Texas limited liability company. We are an independent market-intelligence publisher — not a dealer, broker, manufacturer, or marketplace, and not affiliated with any. That independence is the point: we have no inventory to move and no incentive to inflate a number.

Why you can trust the numbers

The discipline behind every figure is deliberately conservative:
  • Sold and asking prices never blend. The Library Median is a median of recorded asking prices; realized sold prices are shown separately and labeled.
  • No median under 5 comparable listings. Below that we show a "collecting data" state — never a number we can't stand behind.
  • Complete systems only. Parts and accessories are classified out so they can't contaminate a device's median.
  • Every figure traces to a real, live listing with a working link back to its source. If we can't trace it, we don't show it.
The full method is on our Methodology page, including its honest limitations.

Where the discipline comes from

This practice grew out of hands-on used-equipment underwriting — the daily work of deciding what a real asset is worth before money changes hands. That underwriter's habit (anchor to evidence, distrust a single data point, label what you don't know) is the same standard we hold the public data to.

Why the Library is free

Every median, range, comp, and source link is public, with no account and no paywall. It is free because it is not the product — the appraisal is. The Library is the evidence base the appraisals are built on, and publishing it openly is how we invite you to check the numbers before you hire us. We receive no payment of any kind that is tied to an equipment transaction, and we hold no marketing or referral arrangement with any marketplace. We are paid to value equipment, never to trade it.

Clinical Asset Appraisal provides observed market intelligence — not an appraisal, and not medical or regulatory advice. Always verify device condition, service history, regulatory status, and seller claims before purchase.
