How to Verify a Medical Equipment Quote

You've got a quote in hand, or a marketplace URL, and you want a second opinion before you commit. That's what Verify a Listing is for.

Two paths

1. Paste the URL (recommended). Verify will try to match the listing against the Clinical Asset Index dataset and return peer median, comp count, discount-vs-median, and a risk signal report. 2. Upload a screenshot or PDF. Verify runs OCR on the image, extracts manufacturer/model/price/condition, and returns the same comparison.

What the risk engine looks for

  • Too-good-to-be-true — listing price is more than 70% below peer median.
  • Condition mismatch — title says "complete system" but description includes part keywords or "as-is" language.
  • Seller-bait language — wire-transfer-only, must-sell-fast, no-questions-asked.
  • Stock photo — the listing explicitly uses a stock image.
  • Relist — language suggesting a prior cancelled or unsold attempt.

Each signal is labeled high / warn / info, with the keyword that triggered it.

Privacy

Do not upload anything containing PHI, PII, financial details, or social security numbers. Uploads are used only to extract equipment + pricing.
